The Retreat New Zealand is an intimate recovery centre set among native bush and farmland in Warkworth, approximately one hour north of central Auckland. Its peaceful 12-acre setting offers space to step away from everyday pressures and begin recovery within a structured, welcoming community. The centre's 30-day residential programme is grounded in Twelve Step Facilitation, the Minnesota Model and strengths-based care. Individual counselling, group work and peer support are complemented by holistic practices such as yoga, mindfulness, art, sound therapy and acupuncture. Staff members with lived recovery experience help create an atmosphere shaped by empathy, honesty and shared responsibility. Alongside residential rehabilitation, The Retreat provides supervised alcohol detox, outpatient support, recovery coaching, transitional living and sober living. The primary programme is strongly focused on alcohol dependency, while support may also address concerns such as trauma, anxiety, depression, burnout and relationship difficulties that can accompany addiction. Accommodation includes private and shared room options, with selected rooms offering en suite bathrooms. Guests can enjoy chef-prepared meals, open-plan communal spaces, balconies, courtyards, walking areas and convenient access to nearby beaches, creating a comfortable environment for physical, emotional and spiritual renewal.
