About Karralika Nexus Program for Men

Karralika Nexus Program for Men is a community-based sober living programme designed for adult men recovering from alcohol and other drug use. Operated by the not-for-profit Karralika Programs, Nexus offers a small, peer-supported group-house environment where residents can strengthen abstinence, practise recovery skills and prepare for greater independence. Care combines an individualised, evidence-based approach with group therapy, one-to-one counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing and relapse prevention. Twelve Step facilitation and access to AA or NA meetings can help residents build accountability and connect with a wider recovery community. Support may also address co-occurring concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, bipolar disorder and OCD alongside substance use recovery. With nine adult beds, the programme provides a more personal setting than a large residential facility. Residents have access to indoor and outdoor communal areas, nature, television, and private or shared accommodation. The community-based structure also encourages men to develop social supports and explore education, training or employment as they move towards independent living. Karralika has served Canberra and surrounding communities since 1976. Because programme availability, eligibility and bed vacancies can change, prospective residents should contact the admissions team directly on 1800 152 772 for a current assessment and placement information.
