About The Banyans

The Banyans is a private residential rehabilitation provider set amid the peaceful natural landscapes of Brisbane’s northern hinterland. Founded in 2016, the centre maintains a small guest capacity and offers discreet surroundings where people can step away from daily pressures while receiving intensive support for addiction, mental health concerns, trauma, eating disorders and co-occurring conditions. Care follows a holistic biopsychosocial model that considers medical health, emotional wellbeing, relationships, nutrition and physical recovery together. Rather than placing guests into a standard timetable of group sessions, The Banyans develops an individual programme around each person’s history, symptoms and goals. Therapy is delivered one-to-one by a coordinated multidisciplinary team. Treatment may combine psychiatry, psychology, nursing, nutrition and exercise physiology with evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, motivational interviewing and relapse-prevention counselling. Depending on clinical needs, programmes can also incorporate equine-assisted work, art and music therapy, yoga, mindfulness, massage and other experiential therapies. Assessment before admission helps determine whether withdrawal support can be managed within the programme or requires a partner medical facility. The residential properties feature private suites, magnesium swimming pools, gyms, cinemas and extensive views across the Queensland hinterland. Chef-prepared meals and personalised nutrition support complement the clinical programme, while gardens, walking areas and optional excursions provide restorative time outdoors. Residential care can be followed by structured aftercare, outpatient appointments or telehealth through The Banyans Health Plus service in Brisbane.
