Sydney TMS Castle Hill Clinic
About Sydney TMS Castle Hill Clinic
Sydney TMS Castle Hill Clinic provides specialised outpatient transcranial magnetic stimulation for adults experiencing persistent mental health symptoms. Founded in 2014 by psychiatrist Dr Jason Pace, Sydney TMS focuses on evidence-informed care for depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), particularly when standard treatments have not provided sufficient relief. Care follows a medical and bio-medical approach while remaining personal and supportive. Patients begin with a psychiatric assessment to determine whether TMS is appropriate, followed by an individual mapping appointment that identifies the treatment location and stimulation level. A customised cap helps the clinical team position the magnetic coil consistently at subsequent sessions. Treatment is delivered without an overnight stay, allowing patients to maintain many of their usual work, family and personal responsibilities. Depending on the prescribed protocol, the clinic may use repetitive TMS or the shorter intermittent theta-burst stimulation format. Nurses and TMS technicians monitor each session, while treating psychiatrists review progress and can coordinate with the patient's existing doctors or therapists. The Castle Hill clinic is located in the Garden Piazza building near Castle Mall, with designated visitor parking available beneath the premises. It operates on weekdays and offers a discreet clinical setting designed for scheduled consultations and repeated treatment visits.

Repetitive TMS for Depression
Individualised rTMS protocols use targeted magnetic pulses as an outpatient intervention for adults with treatment-resistant depression. Standard appointments generally include preparation, positioning and a short period of active stimulation.

Theta-Burst Stimulation
Intermittent theta-burst stimulation, or iTBS, is a faster TMS protocol offered for eligible depression patients. Active stimulation can take approximately three minutes, although the complete appointment includes clinical setup and monitoring.

TMS for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
The clinic offers a slow-pulse rTMS protocol for adults with treatment-resistant OCD. This may be incorporated alongside established medication and psychological treatments when clinically appropriate.
