About Raindrum

Raindrum is a highly private residential rehabilitation and mental health provider based in Byron Bay, New South Wales. Its distinctive one-client model dedicates a private residence, multidisciplinary care team and personalised schedule to one individual at a time, creating a discreet alternative to conventional shared treatment environments. Programs begin with a detailed assessment of the client's physical health, psychological wellbeing, circumstances and personal goals. The resulting plan can combine medical care, individual psychotherapy, physiotherapy, nutrition, fitness and experiential treatments. Care is evidence-based and continually adjusted in response to the client's progress rather than following a fixed group timetable. Raindrum supports people experiencing substance dependency, behavioural addictions, trauma, anxiety, depression, burnout, eating disorders and co-occurring concerns. Medically managed detoxification may be incorporated when appropriate, with access to doctors, round-the-clock nursing and medication support. Preventative health, executive wellbeing and performance-focused programs are also available. Treatment takes place in exclusive private accommodation around Byron Bay and the Northern Rivers, including beachfront homes, hinterland retreats and luxury resort-style settings. Personal chefs, private drivers, care companions and wellness practitioners manage everyday details while clients concentrate on recovery, restoration and preparing for life after residential care.

My original review has been mysteriously deleted. To clarify, I did not want to post my review under Raindrum’s Google Reviews, however felt I didn’t have many options as my review was and is about a therapist who is listed as working at Raindrum. It is deeply concerning that people pay many thousands to complete treatment at Raindrum, when my experience with one of their therapists has been so very hard to comprehend, deeply hurting and retraumatising. As per my original review, I met Gina (one of the therapists listed as working at Raindrum) when she worked at another treatment facility. I had what I believed to be a long therapeutic relationship with her, (8 years), only to be abruptly terminated without warning. I have attempted to ask for closure, and even suggested asking for a mediator to help. After initially saying yes, I was then emailed a week later, and told no based on Gina ‘feeling fine ‘to not have ‘closure’. I am amazed my experience has been seemingly reduced to how Gina as the therapist feels. My feelings and any attempt at seeking closure have been met with the ‘silent treatment’ as I have been completely ghosted. As the former client, it seems my feelings are irrelevant. No one has bothered to contact me, but instead my review was just deleted. Not sure if this means Raindrum is ‘taking sides’ or not. Therapists are automatically in a position of power. It is never okay to abruptly terminate without warning and without any real reason. As I have always stated, I welcome an opportunity to have my experience ‘closed off’, so that I can get on with my life. At the moment, I am very confused and equally hurt by what to me feels like unprofessional and unethical behaviour as per the Code of Ethics, by Gina. Finally, also for the record, the ONLY condition I have is Complex PTSD due to many years of severe trauma. I am a highly functional individual who works in a profession where I am valued and supported. When people seek treatment for those that Raindrum advertises they assist with, practitioners need to be ethical and professional.

After years of trying to treat my symptoms, mostly anxiety – that can at times be crippling, finally I'm addressing the root cause - trauma. The staff at Raindrum are professional, wise – and importantly, compassionate. I've learnt so much – and I feel supported to put into practice, what I now know. Thank you so much!
