One Step Rehab
About One Step Rehab
One Step Rehab is a private residential addiction treatment centre in the peaceful Mae Rim area outside Chiang Mai. Limited to 14 beds, the centre offers an intimate recovery community where international clients can receive personalised support in a calm setting surrounded by tropical gardens, rice fields and mountain scenery. The typical 28-day programme combines evidence-based counselling with Twelve-Step facilitation, holistic therapies, structured exercise and practical relapse-prevention work. Individual counselling, group therapy, CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care help clients understand addictive patterns while developing healthier emotional and behavioural responses. Treatment is available for alcohol and drug addiction, behavioural addictions and a range of co-occurring mental health concerns. Physical and emotional wellbeing are woven into everyday life at One Step Rehab. Clients can participate in yoga, mindfulness, Muay Thai, swimming, fitness training and outdoor activities, complemented by nutritious chef-prepared meals. Guided excursions around Northern Thailand provide opportunities to visit natural and cultural attractions while practising connection, confidence and sober recreation. Each client stays in a private, en-suite room or villa with modern comforts and views of the surrounding landscape. Medical and psychiatric professionals support appropriate assessment and stabilisation, while complex or high-risk withdrawal may be managed through a partner hospital. Recovery planning continues beyond the residential stay through structured aftercare and connections with suitable providers closer to home.

Real experiences from people who've been there.
The staff was caring and professional, environment was very supportive, the program gave me useful and knowledgeable tools for my recovery. Wide variety of food but could be touched on a little bit. Going on excursions outside the facility itself made it feel more free, comfortable and fun! Thank you to all the staff at Onestep and Bangarang Muay Thai gym for being super supportive and always enlightening! Would definitely recommend 9.5/10.
Truly an amazing experience. I’ve been to treatment several time and this by far was the most positive experience I’ve had. The perfect balance of counseling and healthy activities to keep you busy. All the counselors and staff are in recovery and I never felt talked down to. The meals were delicious and the accommodations fantastic. Can’t recommend this place enough.
Two years ago I walked through the doors of One Step Rehab feeling completely lost and unsure if recovery was even possible for me. Looking back now, I can honestly say that making the decision to go there was the single best decision I've ever made. Today, I have been abstinent from drugs and alcohol for two years, and the life I have now is something I never thought I would have. I have peace, purpose, healthy relationships, and genuine happiness. Recovery has given me my life back, and One Step Rehab gave me the foundation to build it. The team there didn't just help me stop using substances.. They helped me understand myself, challenged me to grow, and gave me the tools and support I needed to create lasting change. Every member of staff genuinely cared about my recovery, and that compassion made all the difference during one of the most difficult periods of my life. Recovery doesn't end when you leave rehab, but the time I spent at One Step Rehab gave me everything I needed to continue that journey successfully. Even now, two years later, I still find myself using the lessons and coping strategies I learned there. To anyone reading this who is struggling or wondering whether rehab is worth it, I know how hopeless things can feel. I also know that life can become better than you ever imagined. I am living proof of that. Thank you to everyone at One Step Rehab for changing the course of my life. The work you do is extraordinary, and I will always be grateful for the care, dedication, and belief you showed me when I couldn't yet believe in myself. You didn't just help me get sober, you helped me find a future I never thought was possible.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ One Step Rehab truly changed my outlook on life after recently spending 6 proactive and fulfilling weeks at One Step, Chiang Mai. I received first-class counselling and advice throughout my stay, delivered with care, insight, and real expertise. The facilities are a huge step above anything I’ve experienced in Australia, particularly compared to the more institutional charity-led environments. What really stood out was the genuine sense of community and the high level of mutual respect among the group - every participant genuinely wanted to be there which fostered a very motivated embodiment. With the smaller group size, it made it easy to connect with others who were equally committed to their own recovery. It created a supportive, focused environment that felt more like a retreat than a clinic. The strong emphasis on fitness and physical health was incredibly motivational. The program incorporated Mindfulness and Meditation classes alongside yoga, and Muay Thai and Circuit Training. I only wish I’d taken even more advantage of it over my six weeks, although managed to get much more fit and lose weight too. Healthy body = healthy mind! The staff were all warm, professional, and clearly passionate about the work they do, with a mix of local Thai staff and foreign counsellors. There’s a genuine sense of community and positivity at One Step. Its founder, Alistair Mordley, has built something special: I saw people from all corners of the world (very international group!) arrive unsure of themselves and leave with confidence, purpose, and real transformation. I initially signed up for the 28-day program, but I extended to six weeks, and I’m so glad I did. I’ve attempted recovery before, but One Step helped me realise that I wasn’t just stepping into a life of ABSTINENCE , but into a life of RECOVERY - one with clarity, growth, and meaning. Set against the soothing backdrop of Chiang Mai and its surrounds, with weekend excursions included to explore the local culture and landscape, the environment itself was a deeply positive and enriching part of the program. If you’re looking for a high-end yet affordable treatment centre that blends professional care with real heart, I can’t recommend One Step enough.
