About Flow Recovery Retreat

Flow Recovery Retreat is a small, structured sober-living community in Rawai on the southern coast of Phuket. Designed as a next step after detoxification or primary treatment, the retreat gives men and women a supportive setting in which to strengthen recovery skills, establish healthy routines and prepare for greater independence. Its philosophy connects lasting sobriety with purpose, personal development and everyday wellbeing. Individual plans combine one-to-one counselling, group therapy, cognitive behavioural techniques, relapse-prevention work and Twelve-Step facilitation. Performance psychology, life coaching and the Japanese concept of ikigai are also used to help residents identify meaningful goals and build confidence in life beyond treatment. Recovery is supported through mindfulness, yoga, fitness, nutrition, massage and experiential activities. Residents can attend AA or NA meetings, practise practical life skills and take part in supervised outings around Phuket. Hiking, swimming, water activities and other adventures provide opportunities to enjoy sober recreation while developing resilience and connection. The intimate property offers private, air-conditioned accommodation alongside a swimming pool, fitness facilities, gardens and relaxed outdoor spaces. Its Rawai location places residents close to beaches and nature while retaining the structure of a recovery-focused environment. Flow is not a medical detox or primary residential rehab, so prospective residents should discuss their clinical stability and previous treatment with the admissions team before arrival.

Flow goes over and beyond to further educate to those of us who want to get deep into recovery and explore life after putting it all down. It has inspired me to change my outlook on work and to really live life well. The performance psychology course has been life changing, the individual therapy and life coaching I received at Flow was second to none. I feel great comfort to still be in touch with the team at Flow to support my journey back to the UK and to help me implement and integrate what I learnt. The relapse prevention course really helped me understand myself more and has given a very valuable tool. The location is fantastic, there is loads to do in the area and the sober community locally are welcoming and fun. I highly recommend picking up the phone and speaking to Matt if you are reading this, it is a unique and fantastic place.

Beyond all expectations the accommodation (great sunrise also), councillors with programmes of the highest calibre in a lovely peaceful environment. Rather than boot camp I have surfed, paraglided, wakeboarded, swam and relaxed and walked along beautiful beaches nearby.I have fed elephants bananas, watched sunsets, had massages at Flow and in town, eaten healthily from the delivery menu and also at wonderful restaurants nearby. This area of Phuket is nothing like the touristy (some rather unsavoury parts!) of the island it is know for, rather a more ex-pat International small groovy town feel to it the property is close by to. I understand from my new golfing buddies that it is excellent around here, there is trekking and culture to be seen and done that I cant say I have done myself but is available. Would recommend anyone feeling between rehab and a return to the real world as a perfect middle step, not just to solidify all learnt at Hope, my primary rehab in Thailand but to continue to gain helpful tools and insights into oneself for the future whether in recovery or not! I have walked away with the most positive attitude, ready for what the world wants to throw at me with self-confidence, self-esteem, further additions to my box of recovery tools to go to in times of need, vastly improved yoga skills and a routine to practice myself, a great tan and most importantly knowing what is is like to feel at ease and content with myself again. 5 stars all the way and I don’t give that lightly.
